In July 1934 the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten gave an account of a seamonster observed on the coast of England

On 12 May 2010 the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported that a King of Herrings had come to grief on the shore near Lysekil in Sweden

On 22 August 2013 the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reported that while fishing from the beach, Nita Andersen spotted an unusual creature struggling a short distance off-shore.
